I always love Heather Nichol's cards, so I thought I would use her color recipe to try this challenge. I haven't posted here in a really long time, and in fact haven't been stamping much for the past year or so. Well, I spend a year making my daughter's save-the-dates, shower invitations and wedding invitations, so I should say I haven't stamped "freely" in about a year. It sure feels good to be playing again! I used "Brushed blooms and polka-dot basics for this card.</div>

OK, I know, I know, I cheated just a little by raising a few of the stripes with a bit of foam tape. I love layers, and layers, so this was very hard for me. I wanted to use more "stuff". I love the sentiments from Friends 'Til the End, and the inside of the card uses "It's been to long".<br />

This card is for the PTI February Bloghop. Our challenge was "Spring". Wow, that sounds good, doesn't it? This winter has been long and hard. Well, we did have a couple warm...ish days that reminded me we will not always be caught in the "bleak midwinter". <br />
<br />
My card uses "Ruby Rose" and "Ruby Reprise" stamp sets, Simply Chartreuse, Sweet Blush and Lemon Tart inks. For this challenge I used "Stitches and Swirls" for the background which I stamped in white pigment ink. I then used a pre-Papertreyink stamp for the top layer. The sentiment is from Delightful Dahlia Additions set. The inks are a combination of Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Hibiscus Burst and Berry Sorbet. I like the technique a lot, and will play with it again, but it took me a little time to figure out which stamps to use.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3894374343381842437.post-43978368409465387212014-02-14T10:12:00.003-08:002014-02-14T10:12:53.937-08:00Happy Vanentine's Day!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGgKfNEkC1T_xS3TQ5XCeSvSW-htY4LR1yt8eGItIMZMk4qlTtFQwvk5Y0Voe-QWBfgDGM-sk_P1gsNXvrrtONbQ_HrfatY1_nA5ygtq-Z5O0mFcKHWGdsns2U2SsW28XvGfdJWhHKgpA/s1600/photo-18+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGgKfNEkC1T_xS3TQ5XCeSvSW-htY4LR1yt8eGItIMZMk4qlTtFQwvk5Y0Voe-QWBfgDGM-sk_P1gsNXvrrtONbQ_HrfatY1_nA5ygtq-Z5O0mFcKHWGdsns2U2SsW28XvGfdJWhHKgpA/s400/photo-18+copy.jpg" /></a></div> I hope your day is lovely and sweet! This is a card I made for my daughter for Valentine's Day. Valentine's cards are so fun to make. It's a toss up for me between Halloween and Valentine's cards. I love making them both. I didn't make the deadline for the Papertrey Word Challenge, but I made the card anyway. I have some antique stereoscope cards that I had copied, so I don'thave to cut up the original. I think the picture captures old fashioned LOVE, so that's the word I chose. I love doing the challenges, but they sure are hard to keep up with!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3894374343381842437.post-72920257289368931102014-02-09T10:52:00.000-08:002014-02-09T11:04:54.472-08:00Papertrey Ink Recipe Card Challenge<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB91LAA0yDPWZFP8VrpA27PsbgvHOlf7bGAv319QSFI_RDcU3mrTmcJYjE_PQcO9TBuNdJOdsFsikWtNPWLeJqP9m7rpH3-dJjWmnatEWFBIQ_A2DqGy1Kl72U9hk3vMC7mq8J_z8lYs0/s1600/photo-14+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB91LAA0yDPWZFP8VrpA27PsbgvHOlf7bGAv319QSFI_RDcU3mrTmcJYjE_PQcO9TBuNdJOdsFsikWtNPWLeJqP9m7rpH3-dJjWmnatEWFBIQ_A2DqGy1Kl72U9hk3vMC7mq8J_z8lYs0/s320/photo-14+copy.jpg" /></a><br />

OK, next year I'm taking two weeks off work for the Papertrey Anniversary festivities! I did the color/sketch recipe card challenge, and had a ball. But, for me, it's all a challenge. I'm a slow stamper. I knew I would never be able to do the 17 minute challenge, and to all of you who did that one...well, I need some lessons! I don't have all the ink and paper colors yet from Papertrey, but I'm working on it, so for this card I used as close to dark chocolate and scarlet jewel as I could find. (I've kind of forgotten that I have 20 years worth of supplies which I accumulated before I discovered Papertrey.) <br />
For this card I used:<br />
<br />

This card was indeed challenging for me. I kind of just followed Melissa's lead the best I could. I love this technique, though, and I'm going to try it with some other dies. It's nice to see everybody's take on this. I used Limitless Layers Hearts, and the Berry Basket die (because I don't have any Cover Plate Dies. And then of course the beautiful Rosie Posie stamp sets. I love glitter! In fact I often wear it for a while after a busy crafting session. For this card I used the Papertrey One Liners-Love die, and one of the Double Ended Banners. I am a pretty messy stamper, so needless to say, I was very sparkly when I was done with this card!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3894374343381842437.post-90435786734398853612014-01-24T23:40:00.001-08:002014-01-24T23:54:39.498-08:00

It's amazing how many different colors of pink there are! For this card I used " Quick Stitched Sentiments", which was a real challenge for me (and not really quick) since I can't even sew a button on a shirt. Well, I can now, I think! I also used Tag Sale #8, Confetti Garland, and Framed Out 11.

My second card was created with "Wonderful Words-Love" which I love, heart border die, and the gray and white stipe frame I can't remember what it's called. I really need to get more organized when I'm stamping. It was so much fun to "Think Pink".

Here's my take on MIM 148 "Generation Stamping". Fun, fun fun! I can't remember everything I used-the flower is from "Beautiful Blooms" and the leaves from "Turning a New Leaf" I also used one of the single dots from "Polka Dot Basics" (is that the name? Oh, it was just too hard to focus while that release was going on-- I was thinking ahead! My ink colors are Melon Berry, Summer sunrise, Hibiscus Burst and Poppy.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3894374343381842437.post-1071181910789447742014-01-08T15:40:00.001-08:002014-01-08T15:45:03.242-08:00Papertrey Ink MIM #147

So far, so good on my resolution to do a challenge a week. This is PTI's Make it Monday #147; multi-layer images from a single stamp. I have to say it was a challenge for me. I used one of the stamps in the 2012 Birthday Tags stamp set, and Limitless Layer Circle Dies along with Headline Alphabet Dies. I also used the envelope liner die. I have lots of Papertrey stuff, but have never really gotten much into Perfect Match inks and papers. Well, after this challenge my cart is full of new inks, re-inkers, and matching papers!
